This module walks through how to let a client or invited user securely upload files into your workspace. It covers creating a dedicated upload folder, notifying members when new files arrive, keeping folders organized with automatic and manual indexing, creating a permissions group for the client, and inviting them so they can log in and start uploading.
Key steps include:
- Creating and managing the upload folder: build a new folder under All Files, upload files via drag-and-drop, the file browser, or an integration, optionally notify members of the new upload, and adjust file/folder indexing as needed (0:16–1:18).
- Setting up permissions: from the Permissions tab, create a new group (e.g., "Client Uploads"), either customize its permissions or copy them from an existing group, and grant it access to the upload folder — subfolders inherit the parent's permissions by default (1:30–2:21).
- Inviting the client: add the client by email (manually, from existing contacts, or via Salesforce), customize the invite message if needed, and publish the workspace (changes stay in Draft Mode until then) so the client receives the email, sets a password, and can log in to upload files (2:21–3:16).
